The Larch Cladding Company Wins Prestigious Construction and Engineering Award

The Larch Cladding Company, a leading manufacturer of bespoke timber cladding, is proud to announce that it has been hailed Best Sustainable Timber Cladding Company at Build Magazine’s Construction and Engineering Awards. These awards celebrate excellence, innovation and leadership across the construction and engineering sectors.

According to Build Magazine, due to the “challenges of urbanisation and climate change, the need for sustainable, efficient and forward-thinking construction and engineering solutions has never been greater.” As demand grows for low-carbon materials, energy-efficient designs, and environmentally conscious construction methods, we’re proud to support forward-thinking projects by responsibly sourcing and sustainably producing timber cladding that helps create better, greener spaces.

Timber cladding is one of the most sustainable choices for exterior finishes. It naturally stores carbon, has a lower environmental footprint than many other building materials, and – with proper installation and treatment – can last for decades. At the end of its life, timber cladding can be reclaimed, repurposed, or left to biodegrade naturally.

At the Larch Cladding Company, as well as processing local, sustainably sourced larch, cedar and Douglas fir for construction projects of all sizes, we have adopted a closed-loop, zero-waste production method throughout our operations. Any offcuts or by-products are passed to our sister companies, JD Logs and SawSand UK, to be transformed into saleable firewood and animal bedding, respectively. Anything that cannot be repurposed fuels our biomass boiler, which heats our sawmills, kilns, drying floors, and offices.

This cyclical approach minimises our environmental impact while maximising timber as a valuable natural resource. We are also an FSC-certified supplier (FSC-C134890), and we encourage customers to stipulate certification requirements at the outset of each project to ensure full transparency and traceability in the timber we procure.

Reflecting on the recognition from Build Magazine as the Best Sustainable Timber Cladding Company, Mathew Davies, Managing Director of The Larch Cladding Company, said:

“We are honoured to receive this recognition. We work closely with our customers to provide bespoke solutions without impacting on the natural environment. This award is a testament to our team’s dedication to sustainability, environmental responsibility and quality.

This recognition comes at an exciting time for The Larch Cladding Company. We are rapidly expanding our product range to include cedar cladding and Douglas fir cladding and have been involved in a number of impressive residential and commercial renovation projects located throughout the UK.”
