Zero Waste and Lean Manufacturing
One of the key aspects of the FSC® (FSC-C134890) feature was our zero-waste approach to timber production. Every piece of timber that passes through our sawmill in the foothills of the Clwydian Range is used to its fullest potential.
Offcuts are supplied to JD Logs as firewood.
Sawdust is processed into SawSand®, a highly absorbent horse bedding.
Any remaining waste is used in our biomass boiler to heat our sawmill, drying kilns, drying floors and offices.
This closed-loop process not only minimises environmental impact but also creates additional products that benefit local businesses and communities.
