Why use Welsh larch cladding

Locally sourced Welsh timber means a lower carbon footprint so you can buy with eco friendly confidence. Larch is also naturally weather proof, durable, long lasting, and contains natural oils. This means it needs little or no ongoing maintenance. Don’t forget if you want to preserve the original colour, rather than allowing it to naturally fade to a beautiful silver grey, we can supply our recommended natural linseed oil. Remember, we can now also supply locally sourced Cedar and Douglas Fir that has all the same qualities as larch but is naturally lighter in colour.

Guardian Larch Cladding Feature
One of our customers’ creations made it into The Guardian’s ‘extraordinary garden sheds’ feature

“We’ve wanted a summerhouse for a few years so I decided to design and build one myself. Clad in Welsh larch and timber framed, insulated and wrapped in a breathable membrane. It also has a green sedum roof, which magpies have loved to steal from for nest-building. It is fully lined with timber panelling inside, as well as power for lights on dark evenings. There was one close call with a circular saw, but otherwise it’s gone smoothly. I use it as an escape to read in and be in the garden regardless of the weather.”
